It’s upsetting when a fellow studio runs into trouble, and with current vacancies we’re in a position to help. Founded in 1987 and based in Horsham, West Sussex, CA is a straight-forward, short, commute from London, Brighton and Guildford. It is located less than twenty minutes from Gatwick Airport.

Our console team is currently developing an unannounced AAA title. This exciting new flagship SEGA game is green lit, fully funded and has a healthy development timeline in place. Currently in pre-production we are looking to hire the best of the best to expand our world beating team on this new franchise.

In addition to the excellent work our console team are doing, our world renowned Total War franchise is one of the most respected in gaming, having won multiple BAFTA awards, critical acclaim and commercial success over the past decade on PC. We are also looking for people to become part of Total War’s future, this team is hiring too.

Studio Director of The Creative Assembly, Tim Heaton, says:

“It’s always sad to hear that a fellow studio appears to be in trouble, particularly a UK based company like Realtime Worlds.

Creative Assembly is keen to help, especially as we have current job vacancies. To this end, we will be running a special recruitment event in Scotland for those affected by this unfortunate news.”

We currently have 160 members of staff and we’re continually expanding – always searching for the very best talent from within the games industry. Our studio is built on our people, and our games are built on our people. Supported by our parent company, SEGA, with an excellent benefits package, competitive salaries and facilities on site, in addition to a generous relocation allowance we pride ourselves on being a leader in the UK games industry.

SEGA greenlight major console investment

CA News No Comments

SEGA have okayed The Creative Assembly to develop a major new console title. Currently in prototyping stage the title and genre are secret but will constitute SEGA’s largest current budget in internal development outside of Japan. Using technology and tools developed over the last two years the team will now grow substantially. Studio Director Tim Heaton said ‘The Creative Assembly are known for Total War and we are privileged to have a skilled large team working to deliver Shogun 2: Total War. However we have moved forward with our console team and spent a lot of time developing an infrastructure that works for them and during that process developed an incredibly strong demo. It is great that we are getting the perfect backing from SEGA – we have the time and the resources to deliver an awesome game’.

The Peninsular Campaign available now!

CA News, Napoleon: Total War No Comments

Napoleon: Total War – The Peninsular Campaign is now available to purchase via Steam. This expansion pack includes a brand new campaign map featuring 32 controllable regions divided amongst 4 different factions. In addition to France and Britain, Spain has now been added as a playable faction for this campaign for the first time in Napoleon: Total War.

It is 1811 and the war in the Spanish Peninsula has been raging for over two years with mixed fortunes and heavy casualties for both sides. Napoleon’s Armée d’Espagne, led by Marshal Masséna, has invaded Portugal once again, but thus far, the network of entrenchments has proved impossible for the French to successfully assail. Although forced back to the edges of their Peninsula by France and the traitors who helped them, Spain is not yet out of the fight. The Supreme Central Junta and its successor, the Supreme Regency, authorised the forming of local bands to fight guerrilla – the “little war” – against the invaders.

As well as the new campaign, The Peninsular Campaign also features three new agents; the priest for Spain and Portugal, the provocateur for Britain and France, and one unique agent for the Spanish faction – the Guerrillero, as well as a host of new multiplayer features.

Shogun 2: Total War announced!

CA News, Shogun 2: Total War No Comments

The Creative Assembly proudly announce Shogun 2: Total War™, the sixth instalment of The Creative Assembly’s multi award-winning Total War™ strategy franchise on PC. Shogun 2: Total War returns to Feudal Japan 10 years after the release of the original Shogun: Total War™, and sees Creative Assembly using a wealth of new ideas and development experience to make Shogun 2 the revolutionary strategy game that their first title has proven to be.

It is the middle of the 16th Century in Feudal Japan. The country, once ruled by a unified government, is now split into many warring clans. Players take on the role of one Daimyo, the clan leader, and will use military engagements, economics and diplomacy to achieve the ultimate goal, re-unite Japan under his supreme command and become the new Shogun – the undisputed ruler of a pacified nation.

Shogun 2: Total War will feature enhanced full 3D battles via land and sea, which made a name for the series, as well as the tactical campaign map that many refer to as the heart and soul of Total War. Featuring a brand new AI system inspired by the scriptures that influenced Japanese warfare, the millennia old Chinese “Art of War”, the Creative Assembly brings the wisdom of Master Sun Tsu to Shogun 2: Total War. Analysing this ancient text enabled the Creative Assembly to implement easy to understand yet deep strategical gameplay.

“Developing Shogun 2: Total War gives us the opportunity to use recent technology to portray one of history’s most exciting civil wars.” commented Mike Simpson, Creative Director at The Creative Assembly and father of the Total War franchise. “Ever since we developed Shogun: Total War 10 years ago, the team at The Creative Assembly has always dreamt of using our accumulated experience to revisit Total War in Feudal Japan.”

Shogun 2: Total War will be released exclusively for PC in 2011. For more information please visit www.totalwar.com.
